Re: Frequency counter display kit?

Gary,
I have the PCBs for the Freq Counter Project but am waiting for the ATmel CPUs, on backorder.
As soon as I have all the parts for the kit, I will offer the kit on my kitsandparts.com web-site.

Can you post the schematic and other information on the website?  I'd like to compare your design with a few others out there.  BTW, this application is one of the few places where I think PICs do better than the AVR cpu as even the 16 series PICs can be made to count to almost 60mhz without an external prescale chip.  I've seen two designs, one from AADE with and LCD display, and another HB one using 4-6 digits of LED display that count to 50-60mhz.  The AVR designs I've seen top out at around half that.

Re: Frequency counter display kit?

Question for 'diz:

What are the foreground and background colors on the yellow and white back lite LCD's you are offering for the frequency counter?  I'm sure the yellow one has black characters against a yellow background, but white ones usually have white characters against a dark background (blue or black), though they do make them inverted.  What is the character size and over all size of the display and is the connector a single row of 14-16 or a dual row of 7-8 connectors?  (I'm planning a panel for a home brew rig).

Also, will you sell the LCD's by themselves, or only if you buy the freq counter or the new DDS kit?
