FC Questions

Hello .... I am a new forum member so bear with me if I ask something stupid...lol..
I just finished the counter and it works fine but have a few questions.  First I did not join the QRP group to access the construction article so maybe the answers will lie there but maybe some of my questions can be answered here.  First involves programming the AVR chip.  What is a good programmer to use for programming?  Second..is it possible to use an offset to work a single conversion RCVR project (I am building the 40 meter receiver with RF toolkits)...and is there code available to do this since I am not a real good programmer.  I would also like to add my call sign to the initial screen.  I am just getting interested in working with these devices and it is more of a learning experience.  Any info appreciated.

Re: FC Questions

Thanks Diz,....I am going to order an  ATMEL AVR ATMEGA  USB Programmer from one of my vendors....I believe it should work with AVR Studio software for Windows.  I hope this will work...it is supposed to work with the ATtiny2313 chip.  This may be an interesting project making one.  I used an amber LCD backlighted display and looks really nice.  Yes, an offset would be nice to incorporate in the design.  I believe it could be added to the code...not sure if hardware change necessary.  I have seen some use some type of external PB's to program the offsets...but I imagine it could be done with programming....well I need some crystals and must get around and order some...73,   Bob
